SailRx Prescription Software

This software is provided for use by licensed optometric and ophthalmic professionals only. By using SailRx, you confirm that your practice holds all licenses required by your jurisdiction to issue optical prescriptions.

Data Storage & Privacy

All patient data entered into SailRx is stored only on this device in encrypted form. No patient information is transmitted to any external server or third party. The developer has no access to any patient data.

Your practice is solely responsible for maintaining appropriate physical and administrative safeguards for this device in accordance with HIPAA and applicable state regulations.

No Warranty

SailRx is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. The Cloudsail Project and its contributors expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The full risk as to the quality and performance of the software is with you.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The Cloudsail Project shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including loss of data, business interruption, or personal injury) arising from the use or inability to use this software, even if advised of such possibility.

Regulatory Notices

  • This software is not FDA-cleared as a medical device. It is a clinical documentation tool, not a diagnostic instrument.
  • This software is not a substitute for clinical judgment. All prescriptions are the sole responsibility of the issuing practitioner.
  • Compliance with HIPAA, state optometry board regulations, and all applicable laws is the responsibility of the practice.

HIPAA Responsibility

By using this software in a clinical setting, your practice assumes the role of HIPAA Covered Entity and is responsible for all required safeguards, risk assessments, Business Associate Agreements with downstream vendors, and breach notification procedures.

License

This software is licensed, not sold. Your license to use SailRx is granted upon purchase of a valid license key and is conditioned on compliance with these terms. Licenses are non-transferable and domain-locked.
